Role

With no aircraft of its own, 1710 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) delivers scientific and engineering support to military aviation. The Squadron is complimented by a mixture of Tri-Service uniformed personnel and field-leading scientists, who have the combined experience, knowledge, and expertise required to keep airframes flying and enhance aircraft capability.
Members of the Squadron deploy across the world – including in Royal Navy ships – to support military aviation. 1710 NAS has the specialist skills and facilities to repair and modify aircraft as well as provide scientific advice and engineering monitoring.
