WHAT? Speed mentoring is a riff on speed dating that allows mentees to meet with several mentors for a series of short, focused conversations, providing an opportunity to trial a mentor or mentee role in a relaxed, non-pressurised environment. The benefits of mentoring in terms of broadening perspective, enhancing communication skills, building contacts and creating space for reflection are widely stated. It is also crucial in furthering an inclusive work culture. Our speed mentoring evening will see the defence private sector mentoring the defence public sector and vice versa, enhancing the experience for all involved. Whilst mentors can be women or men, the mentees will be women, bringing together those who work in defence with plenty of time for networking and sharing experience, expertise and inspiration.

Registration will open from 5.30pm, for a 6pm start. There should be time for around 6 short mentoring conversations during the event, with networking accompanied by refreshments from 7.30pm.
