RFA Mounts Bay - Service of Remembrance 2017

RFA Mounts Bay took time out from a busy counter-narcotics patrol to hold a Service of Remembrance in honour of all those who have died in the service of their country.

It was a particular poignant service for the RFA contingent, having lost 2 very popular colleagues in the last month.

Captain Steve Norris, MNTS Commanding Officer, led the men and women of the Ship’s company which includes a Wildcat flight from 815 Naval Air Squadron, a HADR troop of Royal Engineers & Royal Marines and a mexeflote and boat detachment from 17 Port & Maritime Regiment, RLC.

The ship is currently operating in the Caribbean, providing support and reassurance to the UK Overseas Territories.

This involved spending September and part of October providing immediate aid in the aftermath of 2 category 5 hurricanes before now working with the US Coastguard and targeting the illegal flow of narcotics in the area.
