Forward Repair Ship

Offshore maintenance

The Forward Repair Ship provides support to the Fleet Force Elements whilst away from UK base ports. It is a sophisticated, multi-purpose ship fitted with a wide range of workshops for hull and machinery repairs, as well as the facilities for supplying electricity, water, fuel, steam, cranes and stores to other ships and submarines.

RFA Diligence is the only Forward Repair Ship in the Fleet and was deployed during both Gulf conflicts.

Auto cannon

A simple hand operated mounting carrying a single Oerlikon KAA200 automatic cannon. It can fire 1,000 rounds a minute and has a  range of 2,000m.
