Introduction

1. Mariners are advised that the King’s Harbour Master Clyde has made the following General Direction under the Clyde Dockyard Port of Gareloch and Loch Long Order 2011.

2. This General Direction constitutes a public notice in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018.

CCTV

3. The King’s Harbour Master Clyde gives notice that various areas of the Clyde Dockyard Port, are subject to video surveillance by closed circuit television (CCTV) systems which terminate in the KHM Renown Building and the Incident Command and Control Centre at Faslane. The nature of the areas under surveillance precludes the siting of warning signs. This notice serves in lieu of such signs.

4. CCTV images are processed in order to enable the King’s Harbour Master to carry out their statutory functions and for the purposes of promoting maritime and public safety, as well as crime prevention. They may also be used in pursuing prosecutions against offenders.
